FAMILY REUNION BRIEFS ARE HERE!!!!

 

In preparation for the welcome home of our Service Members deployed with the 37th IBCT, we ask Family Members and loved ones to sign up for their local Reunion Brief at the link below.

 

The Reunion Brief is an opportunity for you to discuss topics and strategies to cope with "Changes in Soldiers and Families" following the challenges of a deployment.  The Reunion Briefs are designed to take place in a Town Hall format and will be facilitated by one of our Chaplains.

 

Funding for your Family’s trips may be available to offset the cost.  For more information regarding this funding, please contact your regional Family Assistance Center.

 

Deadline for Registration is September 15.  Late registration is available but no additional funding for your family's trip will be available unless you meet the September 15th deadline.

Military Child Education Coalition

WORKSHOP
21-22 October 2008

The Military Child Education Coalition’s™ Supporting Children of the National Guard and Reserve Institute© is a professional development program for educators and professionals to reach out in a support network to the children and families of the National Guard and Reserve. The conference includes two continental breakfasts, two lunches, two break refreshments and conference materials (no registration, meal, or resource material cost to participants). The curriculum, content, process, and delivery are correlated with the National Staff Development Council’s Standards and the National Standards for School Counseling Programs. Because the Institute is very interactive and participation is required to fully benefit from this training, participants must commit to attend both days.

Date: October 21-22, 2008 (training is a two-day session (12 full seat hours required for institute credit – attendance both full days required – no partial attendance accepted)

REGIONAL FOUNDATION COURSE

The RFC is the first class that the FRG leadership team will attend. The main focus of this training is the "grassroots" level FRG. Within this one day training event are guidelines for establishing, maintaining, enhancing, and basic FRG operations. The main targeted audiences for this training event is the Commander (CDR), Military Liaisons (ML), FRG leadership teams (Statutory Volunteer) which include the FRG leader, assistant leader, secretary, and treasurer. The outcome for this training is to make sure that the Families and the service members are prepared and ready for a deployment at anytime and anywhere. This is a one time required class for the Commander, Military Liasion and Statutory Volunteers.

This year we will offer six one day Family Readiness Group (FRG) Regional Foundation Course (RFC) workshops at various locations throughout the state.

FREE Marriage Enrichment Workshop for Military Families in Ohio 

 
The Ohio National Guard Chaplain’s and Family Programs Office in conjunction with the Ohio Inter-Service Family Assistance Committee (ISFAC) have teamed up to offer you a truly outstanding program known as PREP (Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program).

 

Eligibility: This free program is Available to the following:

  • Any CURRENT Ohio National Guard or Reserve service member and their spouse.

  • Any RETIRED OR FORMER Ohio National Guard or Reserve service member and their spouse who deployed post SEP 11, 2001 for the GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR OR OTHER CONTINGENCY TYPE MISSION.
