 THIS POSITION IS BEING ANNOUNCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE MERIT PROMOTION PROCEDURES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT.  WEARING OF THE APPROPRIATE ARMY/AIR UNIFORM IS REQUIRED WHILE EMPLOYED IN THIS POSITION.    PERMANENT CHANGE OF DUTY STATION (PCS) FUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.  DUE TO MANNING RESTRICTIONS, THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED WHEN MANNING AND FUNDING BECOME AVAILABLE.

DUTIES:  This position is located in the Traffic Management Branch of the Logistics Directorate at an ANG Wing/Group Flying Activity. Its purpose is to perform packing and repacking of items by a range of accepted packing containers, materials, devices, methods, and techniques.

GENERAL EXPERIENCES: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate’s knowledge of materials and handtools associated with packing and the ability to follow directions.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (GS-06)  - 18 months experience in which the applicant demonstrates the following:

1.        Experience in the use of a wide range of accepted packing containers, protective devices, cushioning materials, methods and techniques.

2.        Experience using common hand tools such as hammers, stapling machines and measuring.

3.        Experience which demonstrates the ability to use material handling equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): (GS-06)

1.        Ability to determine the material containers and devices needed to complete the work with little or no review by the supervisor.

2.        Ability to use common hand tools and measuring devices.

3.        Ability to operate material handling equipment (ie forklift, cargo trucks).

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  A copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application.  Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of (30 semester hours of instruction per week) for six months of experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
