THIS POSITION IS BEING ANNOUNCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE MERIT PROMOTION PROCEDURES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT.  WEARING OF THE APPROPRIATE ARMY/AIR UNIFORM IS REQUIRED WHILE EMPLOYED IN THIS POSITION.  PERMANENT CHANGE OF DUTY STATION (PCS) FUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.  DUE TO MANNING RESTRICTIONS, THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED WHEN MANNING AND FUNDING BECOME AVAILABLE.

DUTIES:  This purpose is located in the Aircraft Metals Technology Shop, Fabrication Section of the Field Maintenance Branch at ANG Wing/& Group Flying Activities. The primary purpose of this position is to perform machining operations and welding to accomplish the manufacture and repair of aircraft components, tools, equipment, parts, and special tools.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:  Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate’s ability to operate machine tools and their attachments; and to use measuring instruments and equipment.  Must have a knowledge of the machinability of metals and other materials, and be able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, work sheets or other specifications.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  WG-11 -18 months of experience which has provided the applicant with:

1.        Experience which indicates an applicant’s ability to use precision measuring devices such as calipers, surface gauges and dial indicators.

2.        Experience in the use of advanced shop mathematics including geometric and trigonometric formulas.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  WG-11         

1.        Ability to use precision measuring devices.

2.        Skill in the use of shop mathematics and formulas.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  A copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 6 months of experience.  Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
