This position will be moving to the CSMS at DSCC in the future.

                                              

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: ALL QUALIFIED APPLICANTS who are current Permanent Federal Employees of the Army National Guard within the CSMS in Newark or CSMS at DSCC currently in a production control position. NOTE: IF YOU ARE AN AGR AND ARE SELECTED FOR THIS POSITION, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO VACATE YOUR AGR STATUS.

SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT WILL BE ASSIGNED TO A COMPATIBLE MILITARY POSITION IN AN APPROPRIATE UNIT OF ASSIGNMENT IN THE OHIO NATIONAL GUARD, AS SHOWN BELOW.

THIS POSITION IS BEING ANNOUNCED WITH STATE MERIT PROMOTION PROCEDURES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT.  WEARING OF THE APPROPRIATE ARMY/AIR UNIFORM IS REQUIRED WHILE EMPLOYED IN THIS POSITION.    PERMANENT CHANGE OF  DUTY STATION (PCS) FUNDS ARE  NOT  AVAILABLE.   DUE TO MANNING RESTRICTIONS, THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED WHEN MANNING AND FUNDING BECOME AVAILABLE.    

 

DUTIES: This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4/G-4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance production management, to achieve or maintain desired production levels, to serve as an equipment readiness expert for units supported by the facility, and to provide technical guidance and oversight to a lower-graded Production Controller.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, can express him or herself orally and in writing, and understands the terminology and data pertaining to the repair operations and processes characteristic of the production activity.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCEGS-09  - 18 months experience in which the applicant demonstrates the following:

1.  Experience as a supervisor, or contacts that required an interchange of information resulting in a specific required action to be completed.

2.  Experience where candidate scheduled workflow in more than one area and was responsible for coordinating products or materials from support activities.

3.  Experience in performing or supervising journeyman level work in a shop located within the production facility.

4.  Experience where applicant exercised immediate control tasks such as:

     a.  Preparing job or work orders.

     b.  Scheduling various phases of projects into the shops.

     c.  Following up to see if work is progressing as planned; and

     d.  Arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing to allow for unanticipated changes.

  KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):  GS-09

1.        Ability to communicate both orally and in writing.

2.        Ability to exercise initiative in taking timely action to schedule and obtain required materials.

3.        Knowledge of the organization and work procedures of the production activity. 

4.        Ability to exercise initiative in taking prompt and decisive action to prevent or alleviate delays due to conflicts in scheduling, lack of materials, or faulty work processes.

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  NOTE:  College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  A copy of the transcript must be substituted with the Job Application. Completion of all requirements for a Bachelors Degree; with a specialization in production management, industrial management, or any other branch of engineering or other closely related specialization.
