THIS POSITION IS BEING ANNOUNCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE MERIT PROMOTION PROCEDURES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT.  WEARING OF THE APPROPRIATE ARMY/AIR UNIFORM IS REQUIRED WHILE EMPLOYED IN THIS POSITION.  PERMANENT CHANGE OF DUTY STATION (PCS) FUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.  DUE TO MANNING RESTRICTIONS, THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED WHEN MANNING AND FUNDING BECOME AVAILABLE.

 

DUTIES: This position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters – State, Logistics Directorate (J4), Surface Maintenance Facility. The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, inspection, and/or overhaul of a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, and special purpose vehicles and equipment. 

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate has enough knowledge of equipment to be able to do routine jobs, simple preventative maintenance tasks, and is able to use common tools and equipment in the line of work.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE(WG-10) - 18 months experience which has provided the applicant with the following:

1.        Experience which demonstrates a broad knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.

2.        Experience in the use of dosimeters, oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, and other related equipment.

3.        Experience in the use of technical manuals, maintenance directives and publications as they relate to repair and inspection of equipment.

4.        Experience which reflects accurate use of blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs)WG-10

1.        Knowledge of equipment assembly, installation, repair, etc.

2.        Skill in the use of test measurement and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscopes, ohmmeters, dosimeters, etc.

3.        Skill in the interpretation of technical manuals, maintenance directives and publications as the relate to repair and inspection of equipment.

4.        Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, diagrams, etc.

 

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:  NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position.  A copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience).   Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience.  Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
