THIS POSITION IS BEING ANNOUNCED IN ACCORDANCE WITH STATE MERIT PROMOTION PROCEDURES AND COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT. THIS MAY BE A DEVELOPMENTAL POSITION. PROMOTION IS NOT GUARANTEED, NOR IS THE PROMISE OF PROMOTION IMPLIED. PERMANENT CHANGE OF DUTY STATION (PCS) FUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. DUE TO MANNING RESTRICTIONS, THIS POSITION WILL BE FILLED WHEN MANNING AND FUNDING BECOME AVAILABLE.
DUTIES: This position is located in the Aerial Port Section, Air Operations Division. The incumbent must maintain currency and skill in all aerial port functions related to the airdrop mission of the Air National Guard. This includes performing a full variety of aerial port functions inclusive of air terminal operations center (ATOC) duties, air cargo processing/inspection, airlift capability forecasting, passenger processing, fleet service, combat readiness and resources, and functions of an aerial delivery support flight.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate’s knowledge of equipment and practices associated with the type of work to be done.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (WG-10) 18 Months experience in which the applicant demonstrates:
1. Experience in verifying cargo against manifest; inspecting for damage or unusual condition of shipment.
2. Experience which demonstrates the applicant’s knowledge of appropriate cargo locations considering factors such as use, size, shape of cargo. Knowledge of storing and handling of hazardous cargo.
3. Experience in weight and balance computations, distribution and palletizing of loads. Experience in using forklifts.
4. Experience in using automated or manual means to complete air movement records or reports.
5. Experience in inspecting parachutes and identifying defective equipment.
6. Experience in setting up a drop zone and recovery of parachutes and equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): WG-10
1. Skill in verifying shortage, overage, and damaged condition of cargo.
2. Knowledge of storage procedures and safety requirements of cargo.
3. Knowledge of aircraft loading and unloading procedures, weight and balances, distribution, palletizing and safety. Ability to use forklift.
4. Knowledge of air movement forms, records and reports.
5. Ability to inspecting parachutes and identifying defective equipment
6. Ability to set up a drop zone and recovery of parachutes and equipment.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: For those positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid State driver’s license for the State in which he/she lives or is principally employed.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION: NOTE: College Transcripts are required if you wish to use Education as a substitution for experience or if a degree is a requirement for the position. A copy of the transcript must be submitted with the Job Application. Study successfully completed in a college, university, technical or vocational school may be substituted for experience at the rate of one year of study (30 semester hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week for 6 months of experience). Maximum credit is 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.
