Brigadier General Matthew L. Kambic

Brigadier General Kambic assumed the duties as the Assistant Adjutant General for Army, Joint Force Headquarters-Ohio, Ohio Army National Guard on January 1, 2005. As the Assistant Adjutant General for Army he establishes policies, priorities and oversight for the readiness of over 10,300 soldiers.

Brigadier General Kambic began his military career in 1974 when he joined the United States Army after graduating from high school. He spent four years in the 1-66th Armor Battalion, 2d Armored Division as an armor crewman and left active duty as a Sergeant. Brigadier General Kambic returned to Ohio to attend college and joined the Ohio Army National Guard as an enlisted soldier. He received his commission through the Army ROTC Program at Youngstown State University in 1981.

Brigadier General Kambic has commanded HHD, 437th Military Police Battalion, HHT 107th Armored Cavalry Regiment, the 1-134th Field Artillery Battalion, and the 37th Armored Brigade. Additionally, he has served as a TAC Officer at the Ohio Military Academy, a Military Police Platoon Leader, Assistant S-3 and S-3 of the 107th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Assistant Inspector General, Assistant S-3/Training Officer for the Troop Command Brigade, Chief of Training Branch, J-3 (Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans) for the Ohio Army National Guard and Chief of Staff for the Ohio Army National Guard.
