State Command
Sergeant MajorCSM Gilliam assumed the duties of Command Sergeant Major, Joint Force Headquarters, Ohio Army National Guard, on 1 April 2003. As the State Command Sergeant Major, CSM Gilliam serves as the Senior Army Enlisted Advisor to The Adjutant General. The CSM is the personal advisor on all enlisted-related matters, particularly in areas affecting soldier training and quality of life, for over 10,800 soldiers assigned to the Ohio Army National Guard.
CSM Gilliam’s career began in 1972. He was appointed to the rank of Command Sergeant Major in 1996 and has spent over 10 years in CSM positions at every level of command.
