Requesting Military Aerial Display Team
Requests for all Department of Defense aerial demonstration teams such as the Air Force Thunderbirds, Navy Blue Angels, Army Golden Knights or others to participate in your special event are made through the U.S. Air Force Aerial Events Support homepage or the U.S. Army Aerial Events homepage. Complete application instructions, forms, routing instructions and mailing addresses are listed there. Event organizers should be aware that Department of Defense aerial demonstration teams are in great demand worldwide and, unfortunately, many requests simply cannot be accommodated. In addition, timely submission of your request on a completed DD Form 2535 is essential, since the team's schedules are booked up to a year in advance to ensure maximum public exposure. Support to Organizations and Special Events The Ohio National Guard is proud to be a member of the more than 54 communities throughout Ohio in which our soldiers and
airmen serve. Through an active community relations program, the Ohio National Guard demonstrates it is a good neighbor and community partner.
The Guard and its soldiers and airmen are extensively involved in local community organizations and often participate in, or The Ohio National Guard Public Affairs staff receives all volunteer requests, reviews and validates their legal propriety, then puts out a call across the organization for volunteers. Volunteers are not typically provided in an "official" capacity. The National Guard, as a government institution, refrains from endorsing specific organizations or events that it does not officially sponsor. Instead, it is up to the individual Guard members to decide whether they volunteer their time. Event organizers should also be aware that military mission requirements may on occasion prevent our people from supporting off-base events and that there are a number of state and federal restrictions on how the National Guard can support organizations and events and our training and mission schedules always come first.
