POTAP is creating a unique and strategic presentation to showcase the region’s unique hospitality, gastronomy and sustainability, to represent ‘Olympus Riviera.’ For this upcoming visitation, the organisation aims to showcase Pieria to be a unique, go to destination with a focus on unique, alternate tourism and the distinct cultural offerings of the region. Northern Greece, and specifically the ‘Olympus Riviera,’ is characterized by it’s cultural vibrancy, natural beauty and historical richness. With this in mind and in their exhibition, POTAP plans to focus on more than just the sun and the beach. They plan to offer the more alternative tourism experiences – those designed for the traveler who wants to soak in the local culture, embrace sustainable travel practices and enjoy authentic, local food to create a better understanding of the tourism – to culture connected Pieria.

Scheduled Gastronomy Events at PHILOXENIA 2025

A part of Pieria’s activities at PHILOXENIA 2025 is the gastronomic event “Flavors of Olympus Riviera: The Burger Story” on Sat. 11.15 from 17:00 to 19:00 at the Central Macedonia Region Pavilion (15). This is a culinary mix of local tastes and modern recipes by chef Asmanidis Andreas.

This event will focus on the Pierian local products such as the regional cheeses, fresh vegetables, and local meats, and how they can be used in modern recipes. Under the “Burger Story” title, emphasis will be given to the modern version of the Greek burger, trying to combine the ideas of the region’s gastronomy, and innovation. The presentation by journalist Sakis Papadopoulos indicates the rising fame of Greek Gastronomy and Culinary tourism.

Pieria’s gastronomy is a proud part of the region, and its fresh products sourced within the region further enhance its food culture. By presenting local gastronomy in an inventive and accessible manner, POTAP is trying to reach culinary participants and tourists to the Olympus Riviera.
