The 10 Most Incredible Natural Attractions In Texas That Everyone Should Visit

Summer’s all about staying cool – and that means frequent trips to the nearest water park in Texas. There’s no better way to beat the heat than immersing yourself in a lazy river and floating the day away. If you agree with us and you’re ready for some fun in the sun, we found 10 of the absolute best lazy rivers in Texas that are perfect for a day trip this summer.

1. Waco Surf – Waco

alt

This is the longest lazy river in the world, coming in at just under a mile (that’s 5,280 feet!). It’s perfect for a long, leisurely float on a hot summer’s day. Hands down, it’s one of the best floats in Texas!

Let’s check out the lazy river at Waco Surf in Waco Texas with Fernando Candelario in this video showing a fantastic lazy river in Texas:

2. Schlitterbahn – New Braunfels

alt

There are several lazy rivers at this iconic water park: a normal, relaxing one, one full of waves that’ll have you bobbing up and down in your tube, and one with raging rapids and a conveyor belt. Choose your tubing in Texas adventure!

3. Schlitterbahn – Galveston

alt

Schlitterbahn Galveston has the same three rivers as the original (except you aren’t quite as packed like sardines here). Try them all out, pick your favorite, and float the day away on one of these lazy rivers in Texas!

4. Hawaiian Falls – Waco, Mansfield, Garland, The Colony, and Roanoke

alt

There’s nothing particularly special about Hawaiian Falls’ lazy rivers in Texas, but they’re not really supposed to be special. All you need is blue water, a tube, and some shade – all of which you’ll find here. I mean, how refreshing does that look? I’m ready to jump in!

5. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor – Arlington

alt

This lazy river winds around the entire park, letting you take a look at all the rides and decide what you want to get on next. It’s slow-moving, shallow, and one of the best floats in Texas for relaxation.

Take a look at the Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Waterpark in Arlington, TX in this video from Font Family Fun. Along with numerous rides and wave pools, it is also home to another Texas lazy river:

6. Great Wolf Lodge – Grapevine

alt

Who said indoor water parks were lame? Great Wolf Lodge is anything but – especially its lazy river. By far the best part of this Texas lazy river is getting to lay back on your tube with no possibility of getting sunburned.

7. Castaway Cove Waterpark – Wichita Falls

alt

Nellie’s Rolling River is conveniently connected to the water park’s beach and wave pool, so you might never have to leave the water! Sounds like a perfect setup for a Texas lazy river

to me.

8. Six Flags’ Hurricane Harbor Splashtown – Spring

alt

SplashTown is one of the most popular parks in Texas and for good reason. It’s just plain fun and the lazy river is no exception. One of the best spots for tubing in Texas because It has plenty of shade, fun little water features along the way, and takes you past plenty of thrilling rides in the park to keep the adrenaline alive even on your relaxing float.

9. SeaWorld Aquatica -San Antonio

alt

One of the best lazy rivers in Texas is a river ride with a translucent ceiling and dozens of majestic stingrays overhead. Need I say more?

10. The Comal – New Braunfels

alt

I figured I’d throw in a real river since tubing is our favorite pastime here in Texas. Summer wouldn’t be the same without one of the best floats in Texas down the Comal!

Head to New Braunfels, Texas to go tubing down the Comel River, one of the best natural lazy rivers in Texas. Check it out in this video from Amber Jones:

When the summer Texas sun is out in full force, there is no better way to cool off than spending time on the water. Am I right? For one more awesome destination to visit this summer, check out this nighttime float trip on the San Marcos River.

Have you ever tubed at any of these places? What are your favorite lazy rivers in Texas for float trips during the summer months?
